TechNet UK Virtual Conference
Friday, May 22, 2009 at 14:51 The TechNet UK roadshows have always been good events if you happened to have one happening on your doorstep, but they couldn't be everywhere so lots of people were missing out. That being the case, and with many companies cutting back on budgets to send people travelling to such events, the good folks at Microsoft have opted to channel their efforts into an online Virtual Conference that everyone can "attend" from the comfort of their own computer.
The event is running on the 19th June, with two concurrent tracks, for IT professionals and IT managers. Fortunately you aren't going to have to decide to watch one at the expense of the other because all the content will be available on demand afterwards. The advantage of being online for the live event though is the opportunity to interact with the presenters.
I'm particularly looking forward to Mark Russinovich's keynote, the PowerShell V2 session by Richard Siddaway (PowerShell MVP and leader of the UK user group) and "How IT will change over the next 10 years and why you should care" - a session which I managed to miss twice last year at TechEd in Barcelona because it was packed out both times.
The full schedule is available at www.microsoft.com/uk/technet/govirtual where you'll also find a registration link. You don't have to be in the UK to join the fun, but if you're coming from a different time zone, remember the UK is on GMT+1.
